If the shoe fits...

Apparently, I've developed quite a reputation at church for cute shoes - and it rather has me tickled.  I often get compliments on my shoes, and few weeks ago a couple girls told me that they went shopping, found some super cute shoes - and the first thing they thought was that they looked like shoes I would wear!  Awesome, I'm totally flattered!

Normally I don't like being noticed, but this amuses me.  I think I deserve some indulgence in the cute shoe department to contrast with my prior dearth.  Starting at about thirteen and all the way to twenty I couldn't find women's shoes to fit my rather large feet.  My mom really tried to help, I even remember one adventure as a teenager going up to an extended size shoe store in San Francisco - but the problem was I wasn't in the market for flashy gold shoes with large jewels and rhinestones (haha, guess I don't have transvestite taste!).

And she even had a cobbler make me a custom pair of shoes once, but that was expensive and didn't exactly turn out as I anticipated.  So, I pretty much just wore men's sandals to church for many years.  And let me tell you how much fun that was, tromping through the snow in sandals while walking to church in the winter during my college years in Utah.  Lucky for me, it was never very far, and my toes didn't freeze off or get frostbite.

But anyway, the internet eventually made my size more accessible, and companies suddenly discovered there was actually a demand and started making bigger shoes.  But I still can't just go to the store when I need a pair of shoes and expect to find any, so when the shoe fits - I buy it!  Because I may never find something that works better.  I do admit that perhaps I have gone a little overboard on the shoe horsing of late, but no apologies from me!

And I'm currently delighted that little Miss Tiny appears to share my shoe fetish - she loves to stomp around in everyone else's shoes.  So when my sister and I saw an adorable portrait of a little girl trying on heels, we thought we'd put some of my many shoes to use for Tiny's 18 month photo shoot.  Haha, well, we tried.  The phrase "herding cats" comes to mind when trying to photograph a toddler.

Be warned, cuteness to follow:

Lest you be one of those people who, like me, looks at other people's blog pics and wonder how they always get good shots... below is what it's really like in toddler photoville, haha, lotsa crazy fun - notice that big sissy just had to photobomb and get in on the action.

Love these kids!
