Look who the stork delivered...

Announcing the arrival of smurfette, niece number three!  She entered the world a decided shade of purple/violet, but the doctors were unperturbed by this, and she quickly pinked up.

Lil' Miss was the name I called her in the hospital, and it may or may not stick on this blog, we shall see.  Bubba and Tiny have long since outgrown their nicknames (pretty sure they don't even remember I called them that) so maybe I'll switch over to the real deal...

She beat the odds again - yet another blue eyed baby from two brown/hazel eyed parents, I think my eighth grade science teacher who said there was only a 25% chance of that happening (if both parents happened to give a recessive gene) was mistaken. Statistics problem, ready go: what's the chance of a 25% chance happening 3 out of 3 times...?

Baby stats:  21.5 in long (I think it was 22 in, the nurse waffled), 8lbs 3oz, and the name: Sadie Ann.
I had a wave of deja vu wash over me when I heard her name... sounded so familiar, but I couldn't place it.  It wasn't until days later when I was working on my family history that I came across this:

And then I remembered about 3 months earlier I had been fruitlessly suggesting baby names to my sister, and when I saw the name Sadie Annie in my family tree, I thought I like it!  Double "ie" at the end was too much for me, but Sadie Ann would be really cute, I wonder if I should mention it to my sister!  Nah, I thought, she'd never use a name I suggested anyway.  Haha, guess I got my witness that they got her name right!

And here we are, me and the three amigas, or monkeys, or mischief makers, whatever you wanna call them, they are a barrel of fun and I love them, so glad they are my nieces!
