Finally a Play Day!

After working pretty much every day of the week (except Sunday) since the beginning of the year, it was finally time for me to take a day off!  My sister and I took the kiddos to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.  Had a lot of fun, and learned a few things:

Bubba blur in front, tiny with her arms up!

1.  I can produce an impressive amount of quarters from my car when called upon to feed the parking meter.  I even came up with a dollar coin that the machine took, now that is talent!

2.  Bubba has grown up and is tall enough for many of the big rides, so therefore has no more interest in the kiddy rides I used to take her on.  Fun to see her growing up, but a little sad to see the baby go.

3.  Tiny is a crazy daredevil.  Starting on her first ride, all on her own, she raised both arms high up in the air, laughing gleefully.  And after watching big sissy get off every ride that she was still too little for, she said, "me turn!"  Adorable!

4.  Standing in line with a toddler isn't so bad when you have a constant supply of "fwuit" (dried cranberries) for her snackage.

And it was amusing for me to see my sister and her kiddos riding the very same ferris wheel that started her relationship with her husband years ago.  There was some "non-commital" cuddling back then that sparked the beginning of what is now history...

All in all, it was a successful day off.  I didn't accomplish my goal of beating my personal record on Ghostblasters (previous score seen to the right - 3110), I only got a little over 2700, but - I did get 3 rings in the clown's mouth on the Carousel in one ride, and that is most definitely a personal best!

So, we totally wore Tiny out with all the fun.  She was sleeping almost as soon as she hit the carseat, and slept all during dinner, didn't stir getting out of the car, or when being passed back and forth between us, or going back in the car - but she did wake up for ice cream on the way home, and was wide awake after that, while her sister finally snoozed.  Playing hard is tiring!
