Words of the Prophets

Nothing I love better on General Conference Sunday, than an afternoon nap!

I don't know how watching 8 hours of talks can tire me out so much, but it does (spiritually at least), and the nap at the end is heavenly and glorious!  Catzilla thought it was a good idea too, and curled up on my belly on the couch for a few hours.

But we did have the kidlets sleep over last night, so that wore us out too.  Never been woken up at 7am by such a cute face before, a cute face attached to such a massively poopy diaper.  Lol, kids are work.  Love them, but glad to enjoy every minute of single-dom while I still have it, and you betcha I'm sleeping in every chance I get!

Anyway, back to conference, I'm extremely glad to now be armed with the arsenal of what I need for the next six months of my life!  I don't know what experiences will unfold in the near future, but the Lord does.  I know I heard all of my current concerns emphasized, and from past experience I know that the strength, guidance, and comfort I will need for whatever will come has been spoken these last two days, or will be written between the lines.

My favorite one-liners from the 183rd Annual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf (as the newly called General Authorities were invited up to the stand):
"It's a long walk."

President Boyd K. Packer:
"There are few things more powerful than the faithful prayers of a righteous mother."

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland:
"Except in the case of His only perfect begotten Son, imperfect people are all God has ever had to work with - that must be terribly frustrating to Him, but he deals with it."

Amen to that!  Every time I'm tempted to get frustrated with people, I'm going to try to remember what a task it is for the Lord to deal with me in my imperfections!  We'll see how it goes... :)
