Embracing Crazytown

So, my cousin was married on Saturday.  Congrats!!

As an added bonus to that special event, I got to spend the last several days in the company of members of my immediate and extended family.

We had lotsa fun.  Food, games, going to see the redwoods, amusement park rides, and just hanging out and chatting with relations that I haven't seen in years.  It's amazing how many similarities we share.  Apparently most of us nuts don't fall far from the family tree. ;)

Which led me to believe (in thinking about my family and pondering my observations of others) - as sane as I assume most families to be, I'm pretty sure every single one sports their own unique brand of crazy.

I'm not necessarily saying that's a bad thing.  After all, spoken in the wise words of Aristotle:
"No excellent soul is exempt from a mixture of madness."

I repeat (for added emphasis): "No excellent soul is exempt from a mixture of madness."

Lol, how true!  But how can we manage the madness?

"Come what may, and love it... The next time you’re tempted to groan, you might try to laugh instead. It will extend your life and make the lives of all those around you more enjoyable."
 ~Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin
October 2008 General Conference

So bring on the crazy, embrace your brand, live a life of laughter, and I guess just try your darndest not to let any member of that one-of-a-kind family of yours actually drive you nuts!  ;oD
